The Power of Words & Thoughts

Yoda

"Do or do not do. There is no `try'." Yoda
You can demonstrate this by asking someone to `try' to pick up a bottle of water (or whatever is in front of them). When they pick it up say, "No, no, you actually picked it up. Put it down. Now, just `try' to pick it up." After a few seconds of them just sitting there doing nothing and looking quite puzzled say, "Okay, now you're deciding to not pick it up. Just `try' to pick it up." The light bulb goes on and the grin stretches across his or her face in recognition of the truth. There is no `try'. I've enjoyed doing and seeing this process hundreds of times over the years and it always gets that message in.

Henry Ford

"If you think you can or you think you can't, you are right." Henry Ford
By our thoughts, words, and deeds, we predict our own future because they are energy and we are energy. Our thoughts, words, and deeds create substance. If our thinking is not in line with want we want to produce in our lives, it will not come to pass. You cannot create house plans until you first envision the house you want to create. By lining up our thoughts, words, and deeds, we make a path to the thing that we want to manifest.

Teal Shoes

Some people say, "Oh, that just kills me." How about thrills me, if it's wonderful; or chills me, if it's not? Instead of saying, "That is to die for." what about, "That is to live for." Some people `die' for their children and many `die' serving their country, but who dies for a fudge brownie or a pair of teal blue shoes? And, why would you want to lay down your life for those things?

Macrophage (white blood cell) under the electron microscope

When we talk about `my cancer' and `my MS', we are owning the energy of that dis-ease in our body. Better to say `the cancer', `the chemo', `the MS' to distance ourselves from a deadly force and take back control of our lives. When we empower ourselves to make choices, we instill a sense of freedom within us. We speak about the `war on cancer', `the war on obesity', or the `war on aids'. There are so many `wars' going on all around us. My question is, "Why should we invite that energy in through our language?" We talk about sending our white cells in to `seek and destroy the invaders in our blood'. There is a great deal of violence in these common statements. Perhaps we could shift that energy by saying "We want to harmonize the dense energies within us by sending them Light and Love."
Kill Time

I heard a friend say the other day, "We had a few hours to kill so we decided to hit the mall." We say this sort of thing all the time. Why do we want to `kill' hours or `hit' the mall? We both noticed what she'd said and thought of a way to change it by saying, "We had a few more hours to share before we had to go so we went to the mall."
Becoming aware of our thoughts and self-talk, including the `things we say just in passing', will make a real difference in our lives.
